This ravine holds a delightful Chain Chomp playground. The Chomps bare toothy grins as they bounce back and forth across teeter-totters. However, what is fun for Chain Chomps is not so fun for Mario, as he must do his best to avoid losing an eye, or an arm. The real question is who let the Chomps out?

To explore the further reaches of Cocoa Canyon, Mario will need to get past the Sledge Bros guarding this rocky mountain pass. A Yoshi will help him through—but which Yoshi is better for this terrain, green or red? Either could work, but if he wants to get all of the loot he may need to use both.

Night has fallen over the canyon, and with it comes a sandstorm. Mario can see an abandoned house in the distance. Can he brave the sandstorm and squalling winds long enough to get to shelter?

Mario enters the mysterious house to take shelter, but suddenly finds himself falling in what seems to be an endless loop, each door leading to another eerily familiar room. Can Mario escape this never-ending nightmare?

Deep down in Cocoa Canyon, Mario comes across pits of moving sand. Bony skeletons littering the bottom bode an ominous future. He must dodge the pokeys, claw himself over the sinking ground, and scale out of this rocky and treacherous sinkhole! Can Mario make it up to the revered Pokey Palace alive?

This is it, the very last obstacle of Cocoa Canyon, the Legendary Porched Palace, fortress of the Pokey army. Rumours say this place is full of crumbly platforms that will fall beneath one’s feet. Will Mario be able to use them to his advantage and defeat the Pokey King, the monster who stands between him and Sorbet Snowfields?
